Surface preparation

Most floor coating failures are due to poor pre-treatment
A well prepared surface shall be suitable for application and adhesion of the coating system. Concrete damaged by exposure to chemicals, contaminated by any substance or unsound in any way shall be removed to expose sound concrete.

It may be necessary to combine achieving the right surface profile and removal of contamination.

Several different methods:
Dust Free Captive Blasting
Surfaces are impacted and abraded by various sized abrasives. Dust, dirt, laitance and contamination is collected and stored by a separate vacuum unit. Different size units are available.

• Less effective on uneven floors
A combination of procedures may be required including those above and the following:
  • Use of decreasing chemicals
  • Steam cleaning
  • Hot compressed air unit
  • Detergent scrubbing
  • Flame cleaning
