Jotun Coating Systems for Cae-Bold Housing Development
Based on the success of Jotun protective systems used in Phase I of the Cae-Bold housing development, Caernarfon, the North Wales Housing Association Ltd again chose the Jotun products for Phase II of the development.
Comprising of 34 properties, the masonry was treated with Jotun Cito primer-sealer, followed by two coats of Jotun Max waterborne acrylic coating. Doors and windows have been protected by two coats of Trebitt translucent woodstain, while the fencing has received a coat of Demidekk woodstain.

Cito is a pigmented Pliolite based primer-sealer and is ideal for use on render, concrete and porous building boards.

Max is exceptionally durable, and is suitable for new or previously painted render and plaster, plus it will give up to 10 years maintenance free service. Using Jotuns Multicolor system, Max is available in a very wide range of colours.

At Cae-Bold an occasional property has been left with a brick finish, while garden walls and surrounds throughout the site have been finished in Terracotta Max.

Windows and doors at this project are protected by two coats of Jotun Trebitt dark brown. Based on alkyd resin and Chinese wood oil, Trebitt has excellent penetration to give good protecttion even to cracked and weathered surfaces. Cae-Bolds fences are protected by Demidekk.

John Gardnere and Sons, Llandudno, carried out the application of the Jotun systems at Cae-Bold Phase II.

Jotun Paints (Europe) Ltd offers a high level of user support for which the Jotun organisation is known wordwide. At Cae-Bold this service was provided by Derek Cartwright of the Decorative Coatings Division, North West Region.

All concerned with the project have expressed their satisfaction with the performance of the Jotun systems during the application, and with the excellent appearance of the completed work.
